”We made six rubber stamps of housing elements all of the same size on plan: a courtyard with a kitchen, a library, a main bedroom, a guest room, a bathroom, and a room with a big table. You have to make your own T-shirt design with these stamps. The white T-shirt would be a kind of site for these elements; accumulating into landscapes of housing based simply on the relationship between these elements. The design of your T-shirt is also the design of your housing.”

Almost spring.  There is a blue Nankeen exhibition hall in Shanghai located in a 1930´s villa,  it holds a permanent exhibition of a vanishing craft. The visit to the exhibition marks the first step for factory-tshirt.net to explore the traditional indigo print method in China.  While staying true to the original method factory-tshirt.net imagines the traditional patterns of flowers to be replaced by skyscrapers, butterflies by magnetic levitation vehicles and grass by crowds of people.  Here the white T-shirt project explores the possibility of combining traditional methods with our customers imaginations.
